I am a philosopher & art photographer (2009)
Living in a frame : systems and metasystems of concepts, also perceptions is the important subject of my art and my philosophical investigation. Most of them has its own reality. However living in the artificial prison of system of concepts created by others that devastates our way of thinking and living, and destroys and even annihilates an individual it is the another story… Simplicity of presentation is important for my works- the sometimes strong graphic effect is intended and carefully considered. I try to introduce the audience to something deeply rooted in our ‘language games’ and different ‘forms of life’, and the dialog – sometimes subversive – between them. I also undermine our ordinary assumptions about the represented power and simplicity.
Born in 1972 in Poland, I graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow – MA in Philosophy and next I completed Ph.D. courses in Philosophy (Department of Philosophy) and European Studies (Department of Politics and International Studies) at the University. I also studied and conducted my research at Harvard University (2005) and Tilburg University in Netherlands (2004).
Moreover, I attended a course in the Academy of Fine Arts (Department of Graphics) in Katowice and a course in Graphics and Computer Animation in Studio of Animated Films in Krakow.
My interests include philosophy of language, philosophy of mind and philosophy of politics, pragmatism and analytical philosophy; widely understood art photography, contemporary & old arts.
I received a couple of academic awards, among other things, a fellowship from SYLFF (The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund in Tokyo, 2004). I am an author of papers in above -mentioned philosophical subjects. Moreover, I am a member of Harvard Club of Poland and HAA (Harvard Alumni Association). I have been involved in many artistic, cultural and academic events and projects.
I live and work in Poland and abroad.
